Core Responsibilities

  • Evaluate blueprints, construction drawings, and related documentation to create precise time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Examine project specifications and documentation for scope or pricing implications, identifying potential discrepancies and challenges.
  • Source and assess material, equipment, and subcontractor quotes to guarantee precision and competitiveness.
  • Develop conceptual estimates for budgeting considerations, factoring in all pertinent project elements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, general contractors, construction managers, engineers, and designers regarding modifications or updates to estimates.
  • Establish and maintain cost databases, leveraging historical data and spreadsheets to enhance estimation precision.
  • Collect all necessary client information, analyze the data, and compile a comprehensive and accurate project cost.
  • Demonstrate strong collaborative skills, working alongside colleagues and stakeholders to fulfill project objectives.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in HVAC estimation, ideally within commercial and industrial sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and installation techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications proficiently.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to engage effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
