Electronics Engineer Job Description

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Electronics Engineer to join our team in Oxnard, California. As an Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electronic equipment and systems for spacecraft and other applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication, and high-speed data signal.
  • Research and design electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment, radio, television, and other communications equipment and systems.
  • Develop and test electronic systems, including circuitry components, analog and digital computers, and control and test equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical harnesses and electronic systems into spacecraft and other applications.
  • Conduct wire derating analysis and ensure compliance with applicable harness standards, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620A and NASA-STD.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in electronics design and integration, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software.
  • Familiarity with common manufacturing processes, chemical coatings, metals, and their treatments in the manufacturing of satellite subsystems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience designing and integrating electrical harnessing for spacecraft, launch vehicles, or aircraft.
  • Familiarity with Creo and Windchill or similar 3D software.
  • Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.
