VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Psychiatrist with our organization, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients, as well as psychiatric consultation, diagnosis, and treatment to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide onsite psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates referred by medical and clinical services staff.
- Provide written summaries of history, diagnosis, and treatment course.
- Provide psychiatric services for inpatients, including assessment, diagnosis, staffing, treatment planning, and regular review of all inmates assigned.
- Provide psychiatric services for inmates in the general population who need regular psychiatric/behavioral health follow-up.
- Act as regular Psychiatrist and participate in treatment programming and planning for the Behavioral Health Unit, including regular staffing and contact with Behavioral Health Unit staff and supervisor.
- Provide medication management to all inmates admitted.
- Provide individual and/or group therapy as appropriate.
- Approve, sign, and monitor the implementation and efficiency of treatment plans.
- Approve all admissions and discharges into the Behavioral Health Unit.
- Provide in-service education to site staff as needed.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
- Must be licensed to practice in the state of Virginia and certified by the Office of Behavioral Health to provide psychiatric services in a licensed inpatient unit.
- Must have current DEA number.
