Job Summary
As a Dietary Service Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing exceptional food preparation and service. This includes assisting with meal planning, food preparation, and presentation, as well as maintaining a clean and safe food service environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with resident dietary needs and preferences.
- Assist with food preparation, including cooking, baking, and plating.
- Maintain a clean and safe food service environment, including the kitchen, dining areas, and storage spaces.
- Restock and replenish food supplies as needed.
- Assist with menu planning and implementation, including special dietary needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure exceptional food quality and presentation.
- Maintain accurate records of food preparation, service, and storage.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to lift, bend, and move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of special dietary needs and preferences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation and service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of nutrition and meal planning principles.
- Food safety certification, such as Serv-Safe.
