Role Overview:
The Speech and Language Pathologist will deliver exceptional, data-informed instruction to students, in alignment with the school's mission and educational philosophy. This role requires the SLP to customize sessions and curriculum to accommodate various learning styles and current achievement levels. The ideal candidate will foster open and constructive communication with students, educators, and parents regarding academic, social, and emotional growth, while also maintaining collaborative relationships with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized speech and language therapy aligned with student needs.
  • Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies based on student assessments.
  • Collaborate with educators and parents to support student progress and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and adapt strategies as necessary.
  • Participate in the IEP process and contribute to progress monitoring.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through ASHA is preferred.
  • Valid Connecticut state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech and Language Pathologist.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a school setting, particularly with special education populations.
  • Familiarity with the IEP process and progress monitoring methodologies.
  • Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that addresses students' social, emotional, and executive functioning needs.
