About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Care Assistant to join our team at Amedisys, a leading provider of home health and hospice care services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services to patients, including assistance with daily living activities, grooming, and hygiene.
  • Apply safety principles and proper body mechanics to perform specific techniques of personal and supportive care.
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals, assist with feeding, and perform homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
  • Observe, report, and document any changes in patient's status, and follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse.
  • Assist patients with prescribed exercises and perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
  • CNA experience within the last two years, or completion of another training and competency program before providing services.
  • Current CPR certification.
