As a Patient Access Representative with CHRISTUS Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless and efficient patient experience. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately input patient demographic and financial information into our system.
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain necessary authorizations for services rendered.
- Calculate and collect patient portions based on benefits and contract reimbursement.
- Perform financial assessments to determine eligibility for program assistance.
- Communicate with patients and families, physicians, nurses, and insurance companies to ensure a smooth patient experience.
- Represent the Patient Access department in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Assist with disaster preparedness and response efforts as needed.
- Support the flexible needs of the department to accommodate patient volume in all areas of the hospital.
- Support the department in achieving established performance targets.
- Complete required training as needed and as mandated.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of experience in a related field preferred.
- None required.
