Youth Ministry and Social Outreach Coordinator at St. John the Baptist Church

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Social Outreach initiatives of the church, ensuring effective management and support for community service and youth engagement programs.
  • Supervise church collaborations with local charitable organizations that reflect the values of Catholic Social Teaching.
  • Organize and promote volunteer opportunities for church members, especially targeting youth involvement in community service.
  • Enhance faith education within the parish by integrating Catholic Social Teaching principles through various service initiatives and learning opportunities.
  • Create and implement a dynamic youth ministry program aimed at engaging middle and high school students in activities focused on service, spirituality, and faith development.
  • Effectively communicate the activities and opportunities related to social outreach and youth ministry to the church and school communities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to engage with diverse cultures and age groups within the church community
  • Experience in program management and volunteer coordination
  • Creative and collaborative approach to developing church ministries

Job Requirements:

  • Active member of the Catholic faith with a strong understanding of Catholic Social Teaching
  • Bachelor's degree in Theology, Education, Social Work, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred)
  • Proven experience working with youth in a church or educational environment
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strong interpersonal abilities
  • Must be in full communion with the Catholic Church
