Thielsch Engineering is in search of a dedicated professional to join our team as a Controls Project Leader within the HVAC sector. This full-time role is essential for overseeing various Building Automation System (BAS) projects.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Controls Project Leader, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the planning, execution, and successful completion of HVAC projects.
- Acting as the primary liaison for all project-related communications during the construction phase and warranty period.
- Identifying effective solutions to challenges while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Maintaining consistent communication with clients, contractors, and team members, ensuring all project aspects are diligently followed up.
- Reviewing and interpreting specifications and construction blueprints for digital, pneumatic, and electric control systems.
- Coordinating field installations and managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Overseeing project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Providing leadership and support to project teams to uphold quality and safety standards.
- Assisting in estimating control project costs.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Alternatively, a minimum of five years of relevant field experience in mechanical contracting, control contracting, or balancing contracting.
- Knowledge of HVAC and industrial systems, including operation of boilers, chillers, and air-handling units.
- Familiarity with Honeywell, Johnson Controls, or Tridium DDC systems is advantageous.
- Experience in managing personnel and project financials.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to:
- Walk, climb stairs, and ladders, as well as sit and stand for extended periods.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Work in environments with dust, dirt, and elevated noise levels.
