We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Electrical Engineer, Mixed Signal to join our R&D Electronics team at Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing audio equipment from initial circuit and mechanical concepts through release to manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Design, analyze, construct, and evaluate electronic audio products, ensuring that all design standards and product requirements are maintained.
- Take the lead role in the design of electrical systems for audio products, ensuring that all electronic and mechanical components and assemblies interface correctly.
- Communicate with product and manufacturing team members regarding design decisions and trade-offs, obtaining appropriate input to ensure the quality of the product design.
- Devise solutions to technical problems that arise in products in production, creating engineering change notices as necessary.
- Use CAD tools such as PCB layout software, schematic capture software, circuit simulation software, etc., to expedite and improve product designs.
- Plan and schedule the activities necessary to complete complex long-term projects, providing leadership and guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Review the work of less experienced engineers for accuracy and quality, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
- A minimum of 7+ years of experience in related electronics design is required.
- A BSEE/BSET or equivalent is required.
- Musical background is a plus.
- Strong task management skills and advanced technical skills sufficient to independently design audio products and solve difficult technical problems.
- Experience with complex MCU/MPU systems, high-speed digital circuit design, digital audio protocols, and proficiency with standard electronics test equipment.
- Ability to construct electronic circuits using basic tools and good technical and non-technical communications skills.
- Project planning and management skills, leadership and supervisory skills.
