The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring our barges are in optimal condition for operations. This role requires a commitment to safety standards and the ability to work in a marine environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of barges using high pressure pumps, hoses, and attachments, including the interior and exterior.
  • Remove debris, sludge, and waste materials, using a bobcat, brooms, and shovels, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to effectively clean surfaces.
  • Inspect barges for damage or maintenance needs and report findings to the supervisor.
  • Perform minor barge repairs such as fiberglass and stick welding.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the preparation of barges for loading and unloading operations.
  • Collaborate with crew members and other departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or a related field is a plus.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physical environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical labor.
  • Comfortable working on water and at heights.
  • Capable of working in confined spaces.
  • Be able to climb a ladder.
