Job Summary

As a Pharmacy Manager at Walgreens, you will be responsible for leading a team of pharmacists and technicians to provide exceptional patient care and services. You will oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Your expertise in pharmacy operations, patient care, and team management will drive business growth and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Experience
    • Engage patients by providing personalized care and services, ensuring a positive experience.
    • Model and share customer service best practices with team members to deliver exceptional patient care.
    • Connect with patients by anticipating their needs and proactively offering services, promoting the shift from transactional to interpersonal care.
  • Operations
    • Counsel patients and answer questions regarding medication usage, side effects, interactions, and contraindications.
    • Perform pharmacist tasks, including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
    • Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications, ensuring regulatory compliance and company policies.
    • Manage the pharmacy's workflow, inventory, and financials, ensuring efficient operations and improved patient outcomes.
  • People & Performance Management
    • Collaborate with Store Manager to establish expectations and goals, promote teamwork, and foster a shared vision.
    • Monitor and recognize improvements in pharmacy staff performance, implementing rewards programs and conducting formal performance reviews.
    • Identify high-potential team members and proactively collaborate with Store Manager to manage career progression.
Requirements
  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
  • At least 1 year pharmacy experience, including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, and insurance billing.
  • Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
