Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Museum Curator to join our team at the National Coast Guard Museum in New London, Connecticut. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for managing our collections, curatorial data entry, and museum administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain our collection of artifacts, ensuring their preservation and conservation.
  • Plan and execute exhibit installations, removals, and maintenance, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and external stakeholders, presenting planned concepts, methods, and techniques.
Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the federal sector. This experience should have equipped you with the ability to manage collections, plan exhibits, and communicate effectively.

National Service Experience, such as volunteer work through programs like the Peace Corps or AmeriCorps, is also highly valued and can provide valuable training and experience.
