Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Denver Health. As a key member of our interventional radiology team, you will be responsible for assisting physicians in interventional procedures and providing diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians in interventional procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans on patients.
  • Administer and record isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental guidelines.
  • Observe patients during procedures, set up and take down procedure rooms with necessary supplies, and retrieve items requested by physicians during procedures.
Essential Functions:
  1. Primary setup and takedown of procedure rooms, operating imaging equipment, and adjusting based on real-time instructions from physicians.
  2. Prepare and administer contrast media for patient examinations according to radiologists' direction, ensuring proper use of IV catheters and injector testing.
  3. Operate PACS applications for archiving, image auto-routing, and pre-fetching tasks, ensuring image quality assurance.
  4. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by following patient care guidelines and using two patient identifiers.
  5. Maintain department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on medical supplies used in IR examinations.
  6. Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, documenting results, and contacting service personnel for malfunctions.
  7. Keep a clean and orderly working environment by wiping down examination tables, changing linens, stocking supplies, and washing/disinfecting IR equipment.
  8. Use the Radiology Information System (RIS) to input patient examination data and place patient orders when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree in Radiography from an accredited program.
  • RT(R) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • 1-3 years of professional work experience in radiography, with a minimum of 6 months of experience in a procedural-based department.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
