Hotel Shift Lead

Job Summary:
The Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the JWCH DTLA Hotel Interim Housing Program during their assigned shift. This role involves supervising/leading staff, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents, and addressing any issues that arise during the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support staff during assigned shifts, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Address any staff or resident issues promptly and escalate to the Program Manager as needed.
- Provide facility oversight during assigned shifts.
- Coordinate with medical staff, maintaining good communication and partnership to ensure appropriate medical care and response to patient needs.
- Coordinate with Case Managers to ensure the schedule of Life Skills groups and activities to facilitate the rehabilitation and behavioral health of all patients.
- Ensure appropriate and consistent documentation as required during assigned shifts.
- Support ongoing quality assurance and improvement activities.
- Ensure a welcoming and supportive environment for all residents.
- Address resident concerns and needs, providing appropriate resources and referrals.
- Facilitate conflict resolution among residents and staff.
- Conduct regular safety checks and respond to any emergencies or incidents.
- Adhere to and enforce all safety and security protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including incident reports and shift logs.
- Assist with scheduling and staffing needs.
- Coordinate and oversee daily activities and services provided to residents.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to implement and improve program policies and procedures.
- Facilitate effective communication among staff, residents, and management.
- Conduct shift briefings and ensure proper handover between shifts.
- Promote a culture of respect, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a housing or social services setting.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or other vulnerable populations is preferred.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Current and valid California ID.
- Current BLS card from the American Heart Association.
- Demonstrated understanding of the impact of trauma on behavioral and medical conditions.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) ability a plus.
