Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Harborview Medical Center. As a Mental Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to and document initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial patient evaluations and assessments.
  • Develop patient care plans with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Facilitate therapeutic sessions and patient/family conferences.
  • Deescalate potentially dangerous situations and promote stability on the unit.
  • Recognize and communicate observations related to the effects and side effects of medications and signs of substance intoxication or withdrawal to RNs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One year of experience as a Mental Health Specialist I or equivalent.
  • Eligible to obtain Agency Affiliated Counselor Certification upon hire.
