Job Summary

Under general supervision, operates CT scanners and other radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images of structures in the human body for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs Computed Tomographic (CT) imaging procedures
  • Assists physicians during minor surgical procedures and develops new techniques and procedures
  • Obtains tissue specimens and follows infection control procedures
  • Modifies imaging techniques as needed and observes patient condition during and after procedures
  • Shaves and applies antiseptic solutions to patient skin areas and transports patients to/from procedure areas
  • Assists physicians with fluoroscopic examinations and processes digital or film images
  • Performs radiation safety monitoring and records pertinent patient information
  • Reviews patient charts and compiles Quality Assurance data
  • Operates radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable x-ray equipment and arranges for equipment repair
Requirements
  • Three (3) years recent experience as a CT Technologist
  • May substitute three (3) year CT experience with successful completion of the department's formal CT training program
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Diagnostic Radiologic Technology Certificate (California) or Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California)
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Basic Life Support
