Wellness Nurse

The Wellness Nurse is a vital member of our team, responsible for ensuring the health and wellbeing of our residents. This role requires leadership, support, and assistance with resident care and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the health and wellbeing of residents, providing training and support, and maintaining clinical quality assurance in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations and Wickshire Senior Living Group's mission, policies, procedures, and standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and support Resident Assistants, assigning shift duties as needed.
- Fill in for shift call-outs and provide coverage as required.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility, in accordance with the Resident Service Plan.
- Administer medications as required, in compliance with state-specific regulations pertaining to medication technicians.
- Monitor the health, safety, and wellbeing of all residents, documenting changes in residents' functional status and personal needs on the 24-hour shift report.
- Assist in the development and updating of each Resident Service Plan, attending Service Plan meetings as needed.
- Observe residents for changes in physical and/or behavioral conditions, timely communicating observations to the Health & Wellness Director.
- Coordinate with EMS (911) for resident emergencies and document transfer information.
- Encourage resident participation in scheduled programs and activities.
- Conduct one-on-one or small group activities as assigned by supervisor, in conjunction with the Wise & Well Program Director.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations and Wickshire Senior Living Group's mission, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Complete all mandatory compliance, HIPAA, and state and federal regulatory training as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the principles of our mission: Making life better by connecting people with purpose and community.
- Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
- Current state license as a Registered or Practical/Vocational Nurse.
- Minimum of one year of experience in assisted living, hospice, home health, acute, or long-term care environment.
- Maintain state licensing requirements, where applicable.
- Exhibit good time management and organization skills.
- Possess the ability to handle complex issues.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

- Express compassion for residents, staff, and guests on a consistent basis.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be knowledgeable of nursing administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing administration functions in an assisted living community.
