Paraprofessional Assistant near Salem, Oregon

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and passionate School-Based Paraprofessional to join our team in Salem, Oregon. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and staff to support students' educational and developmental needs, ensuring a positive and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in delivering instructional activities and lessons, promoting student engagement and understanding.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs or learning difficulties, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Monitor and support students in various school settings, including classrooms, playgrounds, and lunchrooms, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Help with classroom management and organization, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning experience for students and staff.
- Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and resources, supporting the development of engaging and effective lesson plans.
- Support students in developing social skills and positive behaviors, promoting a culture of respect and empathy within the school community.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions, staying up-to-date with best practices and industry developments.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree or higher in education or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred; strong interpersonal and communication skills essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children.
- Oregon Paraprofessional Certificate required if not holding an associates degree or higher, or 72 quarter hours of college coursework, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred but can be obtained after hiring.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds; ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Ability to kneel, bend, and reach as necessary to assist students.
- Full-time position during the school year; hours may vary based on school schedules and needs.
- Work primarily in a school setting, with occasional outdoor supervision.
