Youth Sports Coach

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Sports Coach to join our team at Butler County Family YMCA. As a key member of our sports department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high-quality sports and recreational programs for youth, teens, and adults.

• Program Development: Design and implement sports-based curriculum for age-appropriate execution, ensuring a culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate experience for participants.
• Program Supervision: Supervise and motivate program participants, parents, staff, and volunteers, promoting a team-oriented environment.
• Officiating and Coaching: Officiate, coach, and supervise sports programs as required, maintaining a high level of sportsmanship and integrity.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant, volunteer, and program records, including rosters, attendance, and scorebooks.
• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, modeling relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Facility Management: Ensure program areas are set up according to facility schedules and necessary layouts for respective sports, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
• Staff Meetings: Attend all staff meetings, staying informed about YMCA policies and procedures, including medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures.

• Age and Experience: Minimum age of 15, with a minimum of 1 year of sports-related experience (Baseball, Basketball, Hockey, etc.).
• Qualifications: Sports officiating/coaching experience preferred, with CPR/First Aid/AED Certification required within 30 days of employment.
• Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with mature judgment and sound decision-making skills.
• Cultural Competence: Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
