Transportation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Transporter to join our team at Penn Medicine. As a Medical Transporter, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient transportation of patients within our healthcare facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Transport patients using stretcher, wheelchair, or wheeled-bed, following specific instructions from transportation dispatchers, nurses, or administrative coordinators.
- Assist nursing staff in transferring patients from bed, wheelchair, or stretcher, and assist in patient ambulation upon request.
- Keep accurate records of daily assignments and document patient transport activity on the electronic medical record.
- Verify patient identification to ensure correct transport and report discrepancies to the nurse in charge.
- Report any problems or difficulties encountered during duties to the Transportation Dispatcher and document these difficulties.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within the first 90 days.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within the first 90 days.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
