Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Attendant to join our team at Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia. As a key member of our donation processing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate sorting of donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all donors, internal and external, in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner.
  • Assist donors with unloading their vehicles, taking care to avoid any damage.
  • Accurately sort donations by category and label them accordingly.
  • Load trailers safely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure a safe working area for associates and customers.
  • Ensure the security of company assets and report any known or suspected security issues.
  • Adhere to department policies and procedures, communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Set a positive public image by adhering to Goodwill's dress code and personal hygiene standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, with a combination of education and work experience considered.
  • No previous experience required, but a willingness to learn and grow with our team.
  • No professional certifications are required for this position.
  • The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
  • The associate will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a moderate work environment with occasional exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions. The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
