Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to provide medical services to patients in a psychiatric or adult health setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing and experience working with patients with mental health conditions or substance abuse issues.
Responsibilities:- Conduct medical history and physical examinations on patients
- Author medication orders and clarify orders with nursing staff
- Assist in the ongoing assessment of patients and development of treatment plans
- Provide educational lectures and individual health counseling to patients
- Refer patients to local hospitals for acute medical and psychiatric care
- May function as Employee Health Coordinator
- Participate in activities to improve patient care and facility operations
- Certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry or Adult Health by the New York State Education Department
- Eligibility for full and unconditional participation in the Medicaid and Medicare programs
The Charles K. Post Addiction Treatment Center is a tobacco-free facility, and the Nurse Practitioner will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of healthcare professionals.
