Job Summary

ADAPT MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL SERVICES is seeking a skilled Speech and Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech and Language Pathologist Fee for Service Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating patients to facilitate rehabilitation and independence in daily living skills of physically and/or mentally disabled patients.

Key Responsibilities

Conducts various tests to evaluate speech and language status of patients, analyzes test results, and prepares reports for presentation to regulatory, referring, or oversight organizations with responsibility for treatment planning for patients.
Develops a treatment plan and goal based on assessment, integrating and providing therapeutic services in or home of person served through consultation with parent/guardian and staff.
Implements testing procedures to evaluate and monitor participant progress following stated treatment period as required by appropriate regulatory agency, providing written report of results to appropriate management personnel.
Assesses oral motor development and ability to intake food orally, developing a treatment plan appropriate to identified disabilities, subject to professional licensure requirements established by respective funding source.
Keeps current in latest alternative communication techniques and implements appropriate techniques subject to agreement of necessary parties.
Ensures individuals receive services appropriate to their needs and consistent with regulatory requirements, documenting therapy activities and results on patients' records in accordance with practices' policy and procedures.
Completes all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner, performing other related duties as requested.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology, with two years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities required.
Current NY State license in Speech Language Pathology, with ability to read, write, speak, and understand English, and good interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines, with good organizational skills and knowledge of Picture Exchange Communication and manual sign language preferred.
Ability to use personal computers, electronic devices, etc. as required for treatment, and ability and willingness to travel to private homes.
