  • Flexible Worker: You are open to working extended hours and are willing to participate in an on-call rotation for SOC escalation as required.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Execute established operational protocols and standards for Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts.
  • Support continuous operations of the NOAA SOC, ensuring adequate shift coverage.
  • Handle incident management tasks, collaborating directly with clients and management.
  • Investigate and escalate issues autonomously, adhering to protocols and service level agreements.
  • Analyze unusual behaviors based on log data from various security tools.
  • Identify enhancements for SOC processes and tools to improve mission effectiveness.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Utilize knowledge of SIEM and incident management solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of the cybersecurity threat lifecycle, including attack vectors and exploitation methods.
  • Familiarity with cloud security concepts and experience in monitoring threats in cloud environments.
  • Awareness of the NOAA mission and its objectives.
