Compensation: $118,300 per year (hourly position)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; day shift; on-call one week per month

Role Overview

The HVAC Systems Specialist will assist the Engineering Management in overseeing the maintenance of mechanical systems. This role involves leading the engineering team in troubleshooting and repairing critical system failures to minimize downtime and restore building services. The specialist will serve as an expert in building systems, identifying deficiencies and understanding the implications of changes to existing systems and new installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily operations of the engineering team, providing training and support as needed.
  • Maintain operational logs and files, including chemical consumption and equipment inspection records.
  • Analyze current systems and develop preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Identify potential issues and communicate them to relevant stakeholders promptly.
  • Monitor processes and develop plans to enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely completion of quality services.
  • Conduct quality control on projects, providing reports and recommendations for improvements.
  • Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for specific systems.
  • Assist with critical system shutdowns and startups.
  • Respond courteously to tenant requests within established guidelines.
  • Maintain professional relationships with contractors and tenants.
  • Demonstrate competency in emergency procedures and assist with safety protocols.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in building engineering, HVAC technology, or a related technical field.
  • EPA Universal certification is required.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) is preferred.
  • Strong supervisory skills and the ability to influence team members.
  • Experience in high-pressure environments is advantageous.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is necessary.

Working Conditions
  • Indoors: 40%
  • Outdoors: 60%
  • Flexibility to meet shift requirements, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness to be on-call as needed.
