Job Summary

As an Automated Logistical Specialist in the Army National Guard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of supply chain management. Your primary responsibility will be to supervise and perform specific functions in order to maintain equipment records and parts. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining records, maintaining stock locator systems, and administering document control procedures. You will also process requests and turn-in documents, perform prescribed load-list and shop-stock list duties, and operate material-handling equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective inventory control systems
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Analyze and optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Supervise and train personnel in inventory control and supply chain management

Requirements

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
• Basic knowledge of inventory control and supply chain management principles

What You'll Learn

Through your training, you will develop the skills and experience to enjoy a civilian career as a stock control clerk, parts clerk, or storekeeper in civilian factories, repair shops, department stores, or government warehouses and stockrooms. You will learn how to handle and store stock, maintain inventory records, and operate material-handling equipment. You will also develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Earn While You Learn
Get paid to learn and gain valuable job skills while serving in the Army National Guard. You will receive training in inventory control and supply chain management, as well as other skills that will prepare you for a successful career in logistics and supply chain management.

Automated Logistical Specialist job training requires 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, and 12 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT), which includes practice in handling and storing stock. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.
