Nuclear Engineer/Health Physicist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer/Health Physicist to join our team at the United States Fleet Forces Command. As a key member of our Laboratory and Environmental Sciences Branch, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and health of our personnel and the public.
Responsibilities- Organize and administer the Health Physics instrumentation program, including establishing program goals and objectives, and monitoring progress.
- Establish parameters for types of instrumentation required, determine required analysis capabilities, and design instrumentation configurations.
- Conduct evaluation and analysis of instrumentation currently in use, identify problem areas, and recommend changes where appropriate.
- Perform quality assurance assessments to document the accuracy of instrumentation results and investigate unexpected results.
- GS-11: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- GS-09: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
- GS-11: Experience developing, planning, organizing, and preparing project designs and protocols for research and development work on methods, techniques, work processes, equipment, and instrumentation assuring compliance with existing regulations.
- GS-09: Experience developing, planning, organizing, and preparing project designs and protocols for research and development work on methods, techniques, work processes, equipment, and instrumentation assuring compliance with existing regulations.
For 0840: A degree in engineering from an accredited school or a combination of education and experience that furnished a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering.
For 1306: A degree in natural science or engineering that included at least 30 semester hours in health physics, engineering, radiological science, chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, and/or calculus, or a combination of education and experience that provided an understanding of sciences applicable to health physics.
