Position Overview
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for delivering respiratory care and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers. This role involves the operation and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Administers respiratory therapies and diagnostic tests as directed by physicians.
- Conducts routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on respiratory therapy devices.
- Engages in daily consultations and feedback sessions with supervisors to enhance service delivery.
- In the absence of supervisory personnel, takes charge of overseeing and distributing tasks among team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy training program.
- Current registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care.
- Valid BCLS certification is mandatory.
- State licensure as a respiratory care practitioner in Missouri is required.
- Effective verbal communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Proficient writing skills for accurate documentation of patient care and procedures.
- Understanding of human development stages and the ability to work with diverse patient populations.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and perform lifting tasks throughout the shift.
- Ongoing CPR certification is necessary for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current ACLS certification and the ability to maintain it during employment.
- Minimum of one year of experience in respiratory therapy practice.
