About Exceptional Care
Exceptional Care for Children is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization committed to providing the highest quality of care and services to pediatric patients requiring transitional, long-term, and/or palliative care. Our around-the-clock residential facility provides skilled care to medically fragile children, birth to age 21, who have a technology dependency.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Provide care and advocacy to residents requiring respiratory expertise
• Complete respiratory assessments of residents each shift
• Participate in the care planning process
• Assist with policy and procedure development and continuous quality improvement measures
• Deliver periodic interdisciplinary in-service education to team members and responsible parties
• Conduct parent/responsible party training and assess needs and deficits under the direction of Director of Respiratory Services
• Responsible for routine respiratory care, including equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Provide daily interaction with residents, including frequent conversation, play, and holding/cuddling

Requirements
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Active and valid license in the State of Delaware (or ability to seek)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical records
• Positive communication techniques and skills, with ability to make oral presentations
• Ability to speak, read, and write English and relate positively with residents, families, community members, volunteers, vendors, and other staff members
