GCP Data Engineer Lead Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled GCP Data Engineer Lead to join our team at Systems Technology Group, Inc. (STG). As a key member of our data engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data pipelines and architectures on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and cost-effective data pipelines using GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data engineering solutions with business applications and services.
  • Develop and maintain data engineering tools and scripts to automate data processing and quality control.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers and engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP services and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our data engineering practices.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data product development, and software product launches.
  • At least 3 years of experience with GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.
  • Experience with data warehousing, workflow orchestration, and real-time data streaming platforms.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, data engineering, and software development principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GCP certification.
  • Experience with IDOC processing, APIs, and SAP data migration projects.
  • Experience working in SAP S4 Hana environment.
  • Automotive experience is preferred.
  • Support in an onshore/offshore model is preferred.
