About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. This is a full-time evening/night shift position, working 1930PM-0800AM.

Job Summary

A Patient Care Technician provides basic healthcare and support to patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional. Key responsibilities include sanitizing and cleaning patient rooms, monitoring patients' health and vital signs, and assisting with basic needs such as feeding and grooming.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides basic patient care, including care and comfort, vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene, and assists with mobility.
  • Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and/or concerns.
  • Provides high-level customer service to all patients, patient's family, visitors, and employees.
  • Accurately documents patient care when applicable.
  • Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire).
  • Completion of nursing aide training program, STNA State Tested Nurse Aide, CNA Certified Nurse Aide, or equivalent experience in a clinical setting.
  • Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility.
