We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Peer Specialist to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing support and resources to individuals and families in need of mental health services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist individuals and families in developing skills for independent living, socialization, and community functioning.
- Provide education and support on symptom management, relapse prevention, and medication adherence.
- Assist in the development and coordination of individualized service plans, including crisis management and advanced directives.
- Coordinate services and resources to help individuals access necessary rehabilitative, medical, and other services.
- Document all client encounters and maintain current and comprehensive client files.
- Certified Peer Specialist recognized in the State of New Mexico.
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License.
- UNM Vehicle Operator's Permit.
- High School or GED Equivalent.
- Medium Work physical demands, including exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Medium Hazards, including dirt, dust, fumes, odors, bad weather, and noise.
- Subject to random alcohol and substance testing.
