Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Survey Party Chief to join our team at Encompass Services, LLC. As a key member of our survey team, you will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of our survey work, including routine maintenance of survey equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as a one-man crew providing construction layout, slope staking, structural layout, grid to ground translations, roadway corridor layout, staking from RXL files, etc.
  • Support projects locally in San Antonio, TX, and surrounding areas, with the ability to travel to surrounding cities and states.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of land development, construction, and DOT requirements.
  • Setup, operate, and validate the accuracy of survey equipment, including data-collector, digital level, and GPS systems.
  • Perform and verify survey-related mathematical calculations.
  • Prepare and maintain legible field notes and sketches for all work performed.
  • Maintain all survey equipment and keep survey trucks stocked with necessary supplies and tools.
  • Coordinate the work of assigned subordinate personnel and assist in training lower-level positions.
  • Make accuracy and calibration checks and adjustments on equipment used.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a survey party chief.
  • Knowledgeable with Trimble Access, Trimble Business Center, Trimble robotic total stations, Trimble GPS, and data upload/download routines.
  • Knowledgeable with Trimble survey styles, site calibration routines, and methodology.
  • Knowledgeable with field procedures for performing boundary and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
  • Ability to operate Trimble SX-10 & SX-7, and Trimble Dini level.
  • Ability to perform all aspects of data collection in reference to boundary surveys, topographic surveys, roadway corridor surveys, control surveys, and as-built surveys.
  • Ability to work outside in all seasons and be comfortable working along roadways or near congested traffic.
