Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Podiatrist to serve as the Section Chief for Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical leadership to the Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT section, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide interpretive and patient care services within the scope of Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology.
  • Supervise and provide all nuclear medicine and PET/CT diagnostic services, including planning, patient care, and quality assurance.
  • Develop and implement standard procedures and protocols for nuclear medicine and PET/CT services.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external quality and radiation safety requirements.
  • Represent the Nuclear Medicine Section and the facility during accreditation, inspection, or investigational surveys.
  • Recommends privileging requirements for Nuclear Medicine and reviews requests for clinical privileges.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completed residency training in a core specialty approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
  • Currently hold a full and unrestricted license to practice Podiatry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a staff radiologist or higher, with proficiency in nuclear medicine and multi-modality radiology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board Certification in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Experience in supervising Nuclear Medicine Section, physicians, and technologists.
  • Experience in successfully completing accreditation or inspection surveys.
