Position Overview

Title: Survivor Representation Project Coordinator

Supervisor: Director of Family Justice Center

Status: Part-Time - 20 hours per week

Grade: Non-Exempt


Summary:

The Survivor Representation Project is an innovative program initiated by the YWCA of Eastern Union County, operating within the Family Justice Center framework. The Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in collaborating with the Office on Violence Against Women and the technical assistance team to establish the foundational elements of the program, ensuring that all necessary structures and support systems are effectively implemented. Following the program's launch, the Survivor Representation Project will include a full-time family law attorney, a part-time immigration attorney, and a paralegal. The Project Coordinator will manage the program's execution and oversee daily operations, working closely with the Director of the Family Justice Center to address the needs of clients and staff.


Qualifications and Skills:

Applicants must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree along with two years of experience in the legal or human services sectors, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity. A solid understanding of domestic violence, trauma, and immigration issues is essential. Familiarity with the judicial system is advantageous. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining program policies and procedures.
  • Facilitating regular meetings with all project stakeholders, including internal YWCA team members and external Family Justice Center partners.
  • Building familiarity with partner organizations and legal referral processes utilized by the Family Justice Center, and referring clients as needed.
  • Maintaining comprehensive case records for clients and other necessary documentation.
  • Participating in monthly project team meetings with the Director of the Family Justice Center, as well as weekly FJC and supervision meetings.
  • Assisting with reporting requirements for funding sources.
  • Attending monthly YWCA staff meetings.
  • Completing the required 40-hour Domestic Violence training.

General Responsibilities:

  • Engaging in community and board meetings as necessary.
  • Representing the organization to other entities as assigned.
  • Participating in external committees as appropriate.
  • Regularly attending staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
