Skate Instructor

Join the City of Farmington, MN team as a Skate Instructor and play a key role in teaching children how to skate using the USFSA Learn to Skate USA Program.

• Teach USFSA Learn to Skate USA program lessons to children, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
• Evaluate skating skills of participants to determine if they have met the requirements for the level they are participating in.
• Break down and demonstrate skating skills on the ice to participants, providing clear instructions and feedback.
• Develop and implement lesson plans, taking into account the needs and abilities of participants.
• Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Stay up-to-date with USFSA Learn to Skate USA Program requirements and best practices.

• Knowledge of the USFSA Learn to Skate USA Program and its requirements.
• Ability to teach and communicate effectively with children, including those with special needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Customer service skills and ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
