About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapy Aide to join our team at the State of New York. As a key member of our Child and Adol IP Psych Department, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with mental health conditions and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide behavior therapy to children and individuals with developmental disabilities under the guidance of licensed clinicians.
  • Support and instruct individuals in developing the necessary skills to attain personal goals, live, be educated, work, and socialize successfully in the community.
  • Work in a mental health facility or medical center, performing a variety of tasks related to the care, nurturing, treatment, education, socialization, habilitation, recovery, healing, and support of individuals with mental health conditions and developmental disabilities.
Requirements
  • Graduated from high school or have earned a high school equivalency diploma (such as a GED).
  • Preferred: One (1) year of full-time direct patient care experience working in a mental health setting.
