Role Overview and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Mechanical Services and Central Heating, the HVAC Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily operations of the HVAC shop; delegate tasks, review time reports, procure materials, and prepare cost estimates.
  • Evaluate completed work for compliance with institutional standards and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Conduct facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and submit service requests as necessary.
  • Develop an annual project list and prioritize capital needs for funding opportunities.
  • Monitor HVAC system performance through a centralized control network.
  • Oversee departmental expenditures to align with the operational budget.
  • Contract external work when necessary and assess contractor performance for quality assurance.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing system reliability and efficiency.
  • Solicit and evaluate proposals from external vendors.



Qualifications
Required
  • A minimum of ten years of comprehensive knowledge in hydronic heating, air handlers, heat pumps, and air conditioning systems.
  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate with a team of skilled technicians.
  • Expertise in commercial chilled water systems and mechanical cooling towers.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience with automated controls and PLCs.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable utilizing technology to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Availability for overtime and emergency response as needed.


Preferred
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Possession of a refrigeration license.
