Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist I to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical System. As a Physical Therapist I, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Physical Therapy Services: Evaluate patient needs, develop treatment plans, and provide direct physical therapy services to patients in accordance with generally accepted physical therapy standards.
  • Conduct Comprehensive Evaluations: Perform comprehensive evaluations to identify patient problems, select appropriate tests and measurements, and set priorities and establish treatment goals.
  • Provide Patient Education: Teach patients and families home care and exercise skills specific to the patient's disability, and recognize patient distress signals and provide emergency care when necessary.
  • Record Patient Information: Record patient evaluations, re-evaluations, and care provided in the medical record in accordance with departmental documentation standards.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, suggest areas for improvement, and suggest quality assurance topics and alternate treatment techniques to improve physical therapy services.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Doctorate of PT, required. Current licensure as a Physical Therapist with the State of Maryland is required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and practices, and general knowledge of orthopedics, neurology, trauma, pathology, and general medicine is required.
