Position Summary:
The Facility Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the skilled upkeep and repair of the physical facilities at Trillium Family Services. This role requires a readiness to respond to emergencies related to facility operations and involves driving company vehicles and utilizing electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct minor renovations and repairs to buildings and systems, including painting, carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical work, and glazing.
- Perform regular inspections of HVAC systems, emergency generators, and fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Manage groundskeeping tasks, including the use of blowers, sweepers, and mowers to maintain a safe environment for children.
- Document and report on inspections, repairs, and renovations accurately and clearly.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with established procedures.
- Adhere to infection control practices, including proper handwashing techniques and standard precautions.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience of at least 1 year in maintenance or construction-related work. Training opportunities are available.
- Possession of a valid driver's license without restrictions.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow both verbal and written instructions.
