Job Title: Body Technician

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Body Technician to join our team at The Boyd Group. As a Body Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer experiences through the meticulous assessment and quality repair of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the WOW plan to ensure consistent quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and prepare cost estimates for customers, utilizing various tools and techniques to repair vehicle sections.
  • Repair dents, dimples, and minor body damage, and apply filler resins when necessary.
  • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
  • Remove and replace damaged vehicle sections with new or aftermarket parts.
  • Repair or replace glass and windshields as needed.
  • Replace or repair interior parts as necessary.
  • Weld and attach parts, and prepare vehicles for repainting.
  • Meet labor time guidelines and ensure all work is executed correctly through vehicle inspections.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Successful completion of a technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with other repairers in an auto body shop.
  • Thorough understanding of methods and procedures for repairing vehicle bodies.
  • Thorough understanding of tools required for the trade.

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with various odors present.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
