Job Title:
Senior Associate, Mechanical Engineering

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Associate, Mechanical Engineering to join our team at L3Harris Technologies. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment, and mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Participate in the design of detail parts, assemblies, and installations for aircraft structures, mission equipment installations, and mechanical systems installations.
  2. Apply basic engineering design and analytical theory to structural analysis for integrated system design.
  3. Research, develop layouts, prepare engineering drawings, and coordinate design activities with Tooling, Flight Sciences, Manufacturing, and Production to ensure designs meet requirements at minimum cost.
  4. Designs will be accomplished using world-class, three-dimensional solid modeling CAD tools and work will be accomplished with senior-level design engineers.
  5. Mechanical design engineers have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of tasks and aircraft systems on various aircraft platforms.

Requirements:
  • Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Civil Engineering is strongly preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to walk to and from the flight line, work in aircraft hangar environment and board/exit aircraft is required.
  • Must have ability and willingness to travel if necessary.

Preferred Skills:
  • Engineering aircraft design experience.
  • CAD skills are highly desired.
  • Understanding of basic aircraft systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
