Job Title: Technical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist to lead all aspects of new electro-mechanical pump products. This critical role will work closely with a team of sales, purchasing, product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, and shop floor production teams to ensure a cohesive and cost-effective approach to high-quality design developments and successful new product and product modifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop motor, PCBA control systems, embedded software, mechanical pumping elements, and interface with customers to grow business in North America and Europe.
  • Lead the development of new electro-mechanical pump products from RFQ phase to production through SOP.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design specifications, verification test plans, and documentation of design changes.
  • Communicate with peers and supervisors, including documentation of work, meetings, and decisions.
  • Interface with new product development project teams to transition products into production.
  • Provide input to global teams to support projects and best practices.
  • Support compliance to regulatory requirements, including electromagnetic interference/electromagnetic compatibility (EMI/EMC), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), and RoHS standards.
  • Participate in the selection of vendors and fabrication of sources in accordance with quality and compliance to released specifications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 15 years of experience; or Master of Science degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 10 years of experience.
  • Experience with permanent magnet motors.
  • Experience with testing software TI, Python, HIL, and SIL.
  • Experience with embedded code generation.
  • Experience in using circuit design software, such as AD, Candence, Multisim.
  • Experience of electromagnetic analysis software, such as HSSF, SIwave, Maxwell.
  • Understanding of best practice circuit protection.
  • SME with the development process of automotive electronic hardware systems, software, and especially the development experience of automotive smart motor controllers.
  • Expert in automotive communication networks, such as CAN bus, LIN bus, ISO14229, ISO15765, SAEJ1939.
  • Ability to independently analyze and diagnose problems.
  • SME in AUTOSAR, Auto-SPICE, IATF16949 process, ISO26262 functional safety, and cyber security.
  • Strong theoretical and practical skills.
  • Ability to design and specify advanced motor test equipment/procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills - able to speak fluent English.
  • Capable of interfacing with internal/external customers related to design work completed.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements and E-M principles into product design.
  • Ability to summarize/analyze data, issue reports on design work completed.
  • Contribute to innovated designs and high-performance functionality.
  • Desire to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to self-start and produce results.
