Global Trade Compliance Specialist

At Middle River Aerostructure Systems, we are seeking a highly skilled Global Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and Customs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement trade compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Conduct regular compliance assessments and audits to identify potential risks and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with trade regulations and develop strategies to mitigate risks
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions to ensure all import and export activities comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Implement a process to ensure authorizations are planned for in advance, obtained, and properly activated before use and deploy a recordkeeping management and reporting process for required records and reports
  • Monitor compliance activities, assist with self-assessments, and ensure potential noncompliance issues are addressed
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with 4 years experience in role directly related to trade compliance, import and export regulations (ITAR/EAR), customs brokerage, freight forwarding/logistics, or global trade controls and integrating cross functional teams
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, the candidate must have over 8 years of relevent experience
  • Desired Characteristics/Skills: Experience with Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) SNAP-R licensing platform, Experience with SAP system, Strong MS Excel skills, Experience developing and delivering presentations to Senior Leaders, Experience with U.S Government contracts, proposals, and/or contract terms related to import/export, Experience with conducting customer/supplier screening and due diligence, Experience in developing and delivering training materials, Experience with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)/Schedule B Coding
