ROLE SUMMARY

An Assistant Coach at Valor Christian High School exists to prepare student-athletes to excel in their faith, academics, and sports. The Coach will provide exceptional support to the program, fostering a culture of excellence, faith, and teamwork.

As a committed follower of Jesus Christ, the Coach will model Christian character, work habits, and academic excellence, while instilling these values in student-athletes.

Valor Christian High School is a college preparatory school with a biblical foundation. The Coach will partner with parents, colleagues, and the community to provide a holistic experience for student-athletes.

The ideal candidate will possess a servant's heart, a teachable spirit, and a love for Jesus Christ. They will embody the school's values and mission, seamlessly integrating faith into their daily work.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Possess and model a growing relationship with Christ.
  2. Pursue full devotion to Christ and live a life that reflects that authenticity.
  3. Model the fruits of the spirit in communications, relationships, and daily work.
  4. Demonstrate teachability and a willing heart for service.
  5. Embody others-centered, servant-leadership in all interactions.
  6. Demonstrate trustworthy commitment to Valor Christian High School.
  7. Accept and uphold Valor's values and beliefs as found in the Statement of Beliefs, Christian Community Policy, and Valor Culture Document.
  8. Be relationally involved in the life/lives of our students with a heart of service and mission.
  9. Seamlessly and deliberately integrate Biblical truth and Christian values into daily work.
  10. Provide strategic, effective, inspiring team support.
  11. Uphold and embody Valor's culture as set forth in the Valor Culture Document.
  12. Model servant leadership, grace, and love in all relationships and interactions.
  13. Provide team support regarding all matters, processes, and initiatives.
  14. Provide intentional development of athletes' faith and Christian character.
  15. Develop and execute spiritual and character development plans.
  16. Facilitate the athletes' development of their God-given abilities to the fullest in both life and on the field.
  17. Be a positive Christian role model for all student-athletes at the school.
  18. Demonstrate excellent 'follow'-ship and leadership in sport and the Athletic Department.
  19. Support the Team Plan set by the Head Coach and be responsible for its execution.
  20. Partner in the development and implementation of daily practices.
  21. Film breakdown and game analysis.
  22. Scouting of upcoming opponents and implementation of game plan.
  23. Partner exceptionally with the community of support available in Valor Athletics.
  24. Be committed to partnering with parents.
  25. Support athletes in being their best physically through the Valor Performance and Valor Sports Medicine programs.
  26. Assist athletes and families in the College Recruiting process with the Director of College Recruiting, when applicable.
  27. Know and understand CHSAA rules and regulations with the Director of CHSAA Compliance.
  28. Be a contributing member of the Valor Coaches Association by attending VCA events.
  29. Serve wholeheartedly as an exceptional teammate.
  30. Uphold and embody Valor's culture as set forth in the Valor Culture Document.
  31. Model servant leadership, grace, and love in all relationships and interactions.
  32. Develop relationships with colleagues with goals of teamwork, relational unity, and spiritual growth.
  33. Provide team support regarding all matters, processes, and initiatives.
  34. Demonstrate loyalty to teammates in action and word.
  35. Assist Team members to facilitate school-wide wins.
  36. Demonstrate a commitment to fulfilling Valor's Vision and Mission.
  37. Assume collaborative responsibility for Operating Plan Goals and Fiscal stewardship.
  38. Be a 'culture-keeper'.
  39. Demonstrate a commitment to growth.
  40. Participate in Valor Team meetings, Chapel, and weekly meetings with Team/Supervisor.
  41. Demonstrate teachability and receptiveness to feedback.
  42. Pursue professional/personal/spiritual growth and development.
  43. Participate in the broader ministry of Valor by contributing time, talent, and treasure beyond assigned role responsibilities.
