About the Unit

The Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Corewell Health is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment that provides comprehensive care to critically ill patients. Our team of experienced nurses and healthcare professionals work together to deliver exceptional patient outcomes and a welcoming environment for our patients and families.

Scope of Work

As a Registered Nurse in the SICU, you will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple patients simultaneously. You will also provide education and support to patients and families, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong foundation in critical care nursing, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to be able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple patients, and make sound clinical decisions. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required, and you must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
