Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Community Medicine team at the ASPCA. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing expert veterinary care to support the welfare of animals and their people in underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical care to 35-40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery, including administering injections, intubating animals, and monitoring vital signs.
- Work closely with veterinarians and assistants to provide essential services to pets and rescue animals in need.
- Communicate effectively with clients, explaining medical concepts and providing information about animal care.
- Assist with patient exams, take medical history, and prepare medications for clients.
- Maintain accurate records and stay current with emergency drugs and protocols.
- Current New York State Veterinary Technician License.
- Graduation from an accredited school of veterinary science technology (2 or 4 year program).
- Strong interest in animal welfare and serving underserved communities.
- Excellent animal handling and customer service skills.
- Ability to work standing for 8 or more hours and lift 40-plus pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
