About the Role

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to lead our inpatient group program. As a Group Therapy Coordinator - Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing evidence-based group therapy programs for patients with psychiatric illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive group therapy program that integrates psycho-education, social interaction, activities, and community-making groups.
  • Provide group and individual therapy to clients, utilizing structured interventions tailored to their specific needs.
  • Collaborate with unit leadership to create a cohesive group program that leverages the skills of all clinical disciplines.
  • Develop and introduce innovative group programs that are evidence-based and reflective of patient needs.
  • Provide clinical supervision and training to staff in effective group practice and facilitation.
  • Monitor group attendance and leadership assignments, ensuring compliance with hospital procedures.
  • Develop and maintain the unit's Group Resources Manual and Sensory Room programming.
  • Participate in rounds, staff meetings, and other meetings to maintain open communication with clinical staff and unit leadership.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy training program.
  • Licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State where the program is located.
  • Previous group and individual therapy experience preferred.
  • Ability to set and maintain appropriate boundaries.
  • Experience with empirically supported/validated group therapy skills (e.g., CBT, ACT, MI, DBT).
  • Familiarity with hospital/partial-hospital or community-based treatment programs.
