Job Summary

The Environmental Services Tech II plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our facility. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning of floors in corridors and other assigned areas, including the application and removal of floor finish on hard surfaces.
  • Operate a variety of floor care equipment, including mechanical side-by-side floor scrubbers.
  • Transport hazardous waste, solid waste, and recyclable waste in a safe manner from the point of origin to approved holding areas.
  • Extract carpets and perform project cleaning of walls, lights, windows, and other areas as needed.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization, achieving high QA scores.
  • Provide excellent patient and guest relations, adhering to hospital and department standards.
  • Perform terminal and cycle cleaning, including the cleaning of walls, lights, and ceilings.
  • Relocate beds, boxes, and other equipment, clean stretchers, exterior of refrigerators and microwaves, and maintain equipment and work areas.
  • Respond to emergency requests and observe and report potential safety issues or facility improvement requests to management or the Engineering Department.
Requirements
  • Experience in hard surface floor care and carpet cleaning is required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to detect equipment malfunctions for safety to self and others is required.
  • Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand signs, warning notices, and work instructions is required.
  • Certification: None.
  • Years of relevant floor care experience: 2-3 years is preferred.
  • Years of experience supervising: None.
